YPC
TECHNICAL TOUR

Before the conference officially begins, our delegates will have the chance to experience unique technical tours across Manitoba. These tours highlight how engineering, design, and innovation come together to shape our communities.

Canadian Museum For
Human Rights

Our first Technical Tour stop will start at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights — a stunning example of how architecture and engineering can bring meaning to life.

From its striking glass façade to the complex structural systems that support its bold design, the museum is both a technical and cultural landmark. This tour will explore the challenges and innovations behind its construction, as well as the human stories it was built to share.

Red River Floodway

The next stop on our Technical Tour will be an inside look at the Red River Floodway — a world-class flood protection system that has safeguarded Winnipeg for decades.

This tour is a chance to see civil engineering excellence in action and learn from those who keep this critical infrastructure operating.

Our delegates will get an exclusive look at one of Winnipeg’s most important engineering achievements. These technical tours provide a chance to see civil engineering projects up close and learn from the experts who keep them running smoothly.

Lakeshore Trail &
Main Beach Pier

For one of our last stops in the Technical Tour, our delegates will experience how civil engineering and environmental stewardship come together in one of Canada’s most beautiful natural settings. These tours demonstrate how thoughtful design can preserve landscapes while providing safe, functional infrastructure.

Delegates will visit the Main Pier and Lakeshore Trail at Riding Mountain National Park — where engineering meets environmental stewardship.

From maintaining safe and durable waterfront infrastructure to designing trails that protect sensitive ecosystems, this stop highlights how civil engineering can enhance visitor experiences while preserving natural beauty.
